This Is Personal for Me, Too
I didn't build SOLSOS because I believe in perfect health. I built it because I believe in real life.
My Story
My path to health and wellness coaching wasn't a straight one.
I was married, had two children, and after seven years found myself divorced and raising my kids on my own. And when I say on my own, I really mean it. I wasn't just a single parent. I was the parent.
There were years when life was about doing what needed to be done. Raising two kids, keeping a roof over our heads, working, paying the bills, and trying to make good decisions for three people when I didn't always have someone else to lean on.
But my story didn't start with my divorce.
I grew up with an abusive parent and later found myself in an abusive marriage. For a long time, I knew how to survive. I knew how to be strong, responsible, capable, and keep moving forward. What I didn't always know was how to make room for myself.
Starting Over
There came a point when I realized I didn't just want to keep getting through life. I wanted to build something different.
I had built a career in the financial world, and it gave me the stability I needed while raising my kids. I learned a lot there about people, business, relationships, and problem solving. But I also knew it wasn't where I wanted to spend the rest of my career.
So, at 42 years old, I went back to college.
I was a full-time student and a full-time parent. My kids still needed rides, dinner, help with homework, someone in the stands, and a mom who was present. There wasn't suddenly extra time because I had decided to go back to school. I had to figure out how to make all of it work.
Somehow, I made it work.
Going back to school wasn't only about earning a degree. It was the beginning of figuring out what I wanted the next part of my life to look like.
That journey eventually brought me into human services and working with people with disabilities. I found something there that I hadn't found in my previous career. I found work that mattered deeply to me.
I loved helping people recognize what they were capable of. I loved solving problems, removing barriers, building programs, and finding ways to help people have more choice and control over their own lives.
And somewhere along the way, I realized something.
That same belief applies to all of us.
We are capable of changing our lives, even when we can't change everything about them.
Why SOLSOS
Health and wellness had been part of my life for years, but over time I began to understand it differently.
Being healthy wasn't just about what I ate or whether I exercised. It was about having the energy to live my life. It was sleeping well, managing stress, feeling strong, having people I cared about, finding purpose, and making room for myself in a life that was often very full.
That interest eventually led me to earn my degree in Health & Wellness Management and become an Certified Health Coach. But what I learned in a classroom was only part of what shaped the way I coach today.
But SOLSOS comes from more than my education.
It comes from everything that came before it.
My life taught me something just as important.
Knowing what you're supposed to do and figuring out how to actually do it in the middle of a real life are two very different things.
That is why I created SOLSOS.
I wanted to create the kind of coaching I believe in. A place where you don't have to show up with everything figured out. Where we can look at your whole life, not just a number on a scale or a list of things you should be doing.
SOLSOS is about figuring out where you are, deciding where you want to go, and finding realistic ways to start moving in that direction.
You don't have to become someone else.
You get to shape what comes next.
I think that gives us a strong ending to your story without repeating everything we've already said. And no photo is necessary yet. Once you paste it in, we can look at the visual balance and decide whether this section needs anything else.
Why I Coach
I don't want to tell people how they should live.
I want to sit across from someone who is tired, stuck, overwhelmed, or simply knows something needs to change, and help them figure out what will actually work in their life.
I believe people are capable of more than they sometimes give themselves credit for. Sometimes we just need someone to help us see where we are, decide where we want to go, and take that first manageable step.
Sometimes it starts with a very small change.
And sometimes that small change is the beginning of an entirely new chapter.
